The Middleware Specialist shall provide server platform engineering/ Information Technology Security Engineering (ITSE) support for physical and virtualized Windows, Linux, Oracle, SQL, middleware (i.e., WebSphere, ISAM, IBM Liberty, Containerization, Docker, and Kubernetes) and cloud services environments. The specialist will be responsible for the installation, configuration, and maintenance of middleware products, applications and related components. They will work closely with the development team to deploy applications to the server, monitor server performance and troubleshoot issues as they arise. In addition, the specialist will create custom scripts and tools to automate various tasks related to server administration.
• Provide administrative and technical support for IT and security infrastructure of the client.
• Interact with and support Managed Trusted Internet Protocol Service (MTIPS) through our TIC provider (presently Verizon).
• Install, configure, and administer WebSphere and Liberty WebSphere Application Server (WAS) and associated plug-ins.
• Monitor WAS performance and troubleshoot performance issues.
• Create and maintain different configurations for WAS, including Base Server, Network Deployment, Cells, Clusters (Horizontal and Vertical), and Nodes.
• Configure global security in WebSphere using LDAP authentication. Establish Single Sign On (SSO) for WebSphere applications.
• Create Custom Secure Socket Layer (SSL) Key Files for WebSphere and implement use of self-signed certificates.
• Create user roles and groups for securing the resources on LDAP.
• Deploy enterprise applications using console and Jacl scripts.
• Apply fix packs and cumulative fixes to WebSphere Application server 9.x.
• Install, configure, tune, deploy and troubleshoot JAR, WAR, and EAR files in a clustered environment.
• Work with Developers and Architects to develop middleware configurations based on requirements.
• Identify and apply innovative technologies to update existing middleware.
• Create and maintain documentation for middleware installations, changes, and upgrades.
• Develop and implement strategies for migration, consolidation, and upgrade of middleware components.
• Evaluate system architecture and make recommendations as required.
Mandatory:
• Experience with IBM Security Access Manager (ISAM), WebSphere and Liberty on Linux operating system.
• Working knowledge of Federated Single-Sign on (SSO) configuration using SAML 2.0.
• Good understanding of External Authentication Interfaces (EAI) such as Kerberos along with Single Sign-On (SSO) through Kerberos.
• Working knowledge of multi-factor authentication (MFA) using Time-based One-Time Password (TOTP), HMAC-based One-Time Password (HOTP) to Email (SMTP) and Phone (SMS).
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory Lightweight Directory Service (ADLDS) as a user registry.
• Experience using WebSEAL to deploy junctions to protect backend resources on a secure domain.
• Experience with Shell Scripting and Perl and Python programming to maximize system performance and automate administration tasks.
• Working knowledge of Oracle database systems using DDL to acquire and manage operational data.
• Working knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes.
